The report claims that the carbon fiber prepreg market will reach US$4 billion in 2019

Composite materials professional website Reinforced Plastics cited a report that the global carbon fiber prepreg market is expected to reach US$4 billion in 2019.

According to the analysis, the aviation and defense industries are still the main source of orders for this market, which accounted for US$1.84 billion in 2014 and are expected to grow to US$3.23 billion by 2019, with a compound annual growth rate of 11.9%. The sports market also occupies a whole country. In the six years from 2014 to 2019, it is expected to achieve a compound annual growth rate of 9.1%.

Divided by geographic location, North America is still the largest market for carbon fiber prepregs, and the strong development of the aviation industry and the environmentally friendly characteristics of composite materials have achieved a perfect fit.

According to the report, the major suppliers in the global carbon fiber prepreg market include Hexcel Composites, Cytec Industries, Gurit, SGL Group, Toray and Teijin Group.
